It Takes a Village - Help Us Finish Building Villa Kitty
Take a tour with us and see how our new sanctuary is coming to life. Imagine this small but mighty life-saving village completed and providing protection and care for the abandoned cats and kittens of Bali. We are urgently appealing to our supporters, as we have had to temporarily stop the construction on the hospital and the remaining buildings due to exhausting our funds.
With your support, we could resume construction immediately. We know our donors are invaluable and we are offering opportunities to have gifts commemorated by dedicating buildings and areas to benefactors. Imagine having a ward of the hospital or an adoption area dedicated to you or someone you cherish!
We are prioritising essential buildings and facilities, namely the Nursery, Quarantine and Adoptions Centre (with adjoining kitchen, laundry and tray cleaning areas), so that we can make the massive move as soon as possible.
Construction on the Nursery is almost finished, and next door Anggun’s House (previously Anggun’s Room, primarily housing our retired mothers) and the Education Centre are also nearing completion. The Quarantine Building, an urgent priority, will be finished next.
The smaller kitten areas, the Kitten Kindy, Sun Rooms and Romper Room will house kittens who are fully vaccinated and awaiting sterilisation and adoption. The West Village and Playground areas for the long term cats will follow, along with the main kitchen (most buildings will have their own small kitchen and tray cleaning areas), and the compost area. Our reception, consultation rooms and a new, very much improved operating theatre will be the last to be finished as this will require additional funding. We can move and set up operations while we wait for these areas to be completed.
The new Villa Kitty will be secure, hygienic, spacious, and allow for ease of movement through the entire village, with covered paved walkways yet to come. Importantly, we will no longer have to battle blackouts, flooding and compromised infection control protocols.
It will enhance the quality of life for our feline residents and make a vast difference for our dedicated staff. We will be able to host more visitors, including veterinarians and nurses in our new hospital.
So much work and so few months left! Please help us build the new Villa Kitty village before our current lease expires. Our new sanctuary will enable us to save many more lives and expand our programs to provide increased aid to animals and support communities to prevent cruelty to Bali’s cats. Building work can restart as soon as we secure more funds.
