Could you be Skitters virtual family? He really does need a proper family of his own but until such time as he decides he is ready to be adopted, his home is with us.
Meet Skitters.
Skitters was around six months old when he arrived at Villa Kitty in May 2022. We could tell there was something odd about him straight away.
He was brought to us by a young Russian couple who had exhausted their finances and were forced to return to their homeland. They’d found Skitters alone in their villa’s garden four months earlier and clearly adored him.
We thought Skitter’s oddness originated in sadness at losing his loving family. He simply couldn’t tolerate any other cats around him, which was challenging given our crowded rooms. And then he met Dido, a tortie girl with attitude. Whenever Skitters walked by her cage, she shot out a clawed paw to startle him. It worked. Skitters and Dido began to play and so was born a true friendship.
Alas, Skitters is not your usual cuddly cat. Many of us learnt this the hard way from his swift paw strikes. Now he permits some to sit with him while a strident yowl warns others to keep walking. As a visiting vet said “Skitters is just wired differently”. For this reason, Villa Kitty will be his forever home.
You can support Skitters by virtual sponsorship. It’s an easy way to show your love and compassion. Skitters might be socially awkward, but he deserves his best life.
