Your help is crucial to Maite’s recovery
Can you believe she nearly lost both of her hind legs?
Little Maite’s wounds were so severe that, if it hadn’t been for the swift action of a couple of kind tourists, she would have died, all alone, on the streets of Bali.
Maite was hit by a vehicle and suffered fractures to both her hind legs. This sweet, 11 week old kitten must have been in such agonising pain. Not only was she unable to walk, but her left hind leg also had an infected open wound, which could have easily been fatal for Maite.
She was rushed to the closest veterinary clinic and given urgent medical treatment, including x-rays, antibiotics and clean bandages. Once her condition was stabilised, Maite was transferred to Villa Kitty, where I met her for the first time.
I couldn’t believe her strength - after all she endured, Maite was still incredibly affectionate towards humans and meowing all the way. I could tell she wanted to run around, but sadly she couldn’t.
Little Maite will need to undergo surgery to amputate one of her legs, but she is still too small and weak; she needs to gain weight and strength before she can be operated.
We will do our best to give her the love, care and comfort she deserves, but we can’t do it alone. Your help is crucial to Maite’s recovery.
There are now over 512 cats and kittens in our care, and only with your continued support can we ensure they all receive the medical attention, food and security they need. Your donation today will not only help care for sweet Maite before and after her surgery, but it will also help all the other cats and kittens here at Villa Kitty who, just like Maite, have no one else to rely on.
Will you please give a kind gift today to help Maite and the other cats in our care?
Thank you for always being there for cats and kittens in need. We will share more updates about Maite throughout her recovery.
Thank you,
